Latin name and origin: Elettaria cardamomum, Guatemala.

Smell: Sweet and spicy with a warm tone.

Cardamon: This sweet and spicy oil is distilled from cardamon seeds. The essential oil has a warming quality and is well know for its stimulating properties. It's great for relieving digestive complaints, easing sore muscles, and for generally invigorating the body. A few drops of oil added to a bath offers a soothing soak for tired and aching muscles.

The Egyptions favoured cardamom and used it as a perfume and a component of incense.
