Latin name: Rosemarinus officinalis.
Smell: Fresh, penetrating, woody.
Rosemary
is an excellent 'pick-me-up', particularly after a string of colds or other ailments. The oil's scent seems to clear the mind
and it can be useful when studying. Medieval Europeans burnt sprigs of dried rosemary to drive out evil spirits from people
or places. Rosemary's 'protecting' properties may make it useful first thing in the morning to shield you from negative influences
during the day.
The oil is steam-distilled from the fresh flowering tops of the shrub. Avoid if you have high blood
pressure. Avoid during pregnancy.
